The Fete and Show is located on the Village Green in Evington (opposite the Co-op supermarket) and is open to the public between 12 noon and 5pm.
Around the Green
There is a bouncy castle and slide as well as small fairground rides, stalls including face painting, second hand books, falconry, willow weaving, icecream, a tombola and a raffle. Raffle tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day with excellent prizes. It is drawn at the close of the Fete.
Inside the marquee visitors will be able to see the winners and runners up from the Horticultural, Art and Craft Show which has become an integral part of the Fete, as well as browse the stalls selling gifts and curiosities. Entries into the Show are welcomed for a wide range of classes, from photography through to produce and baked goods. Judged on the day with awards being announced from around 1pm, the marquee is then opened to the public.
In the Arena
In the middle of the Village Green is the arena where the performances of the live music acts will be. There are chairs around the arena for people to rest and to watch and listen to the performances. The perfect spot to sit in the sunshine, enjoy the music and have an ice cream.
Village Hall
For cups of tea, light refreshments and home-made cakes.
Here you’ll also find toilets and baby changing facilities.
St Deny’s Church
Located round the corner from the Village Green at the start of Shady Lane, St Deny’s Church hosts a guitarist performing classic rock and songs from the sixties and seventies and there is also a display by local artists.
The Parish Centre
Attached to the church, this offers a quiet place for a rest and a cup of tea and cake.
Evington Chapel
To be found at the entrance to the Green, the Chapel hosts displays of local history, bringing Evington past and present to life.
